STCW Updated Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting Training Course ONLINE (UAFFO)

This online course is taught in our virtual classroom by our expert trainers. This structure allows for real-time questions, discussions, and feedback between the instructor and students. This is ideal for delegates looking to save on travel time and expenses.

Description

This 1 day Online course is for those seeking updating training in Advanced Fire Fighting who have not undergone the required training onboard ship, as per the STCW Manila Amendments. where you will cover the following;

  • - Control for fighting operations onboard ship
  • - Organise and train fire parties
  • - How to inspect and service fire detection and extinguishing systems and equipment 
  • - Practical requirements for statutory and classification surveys
  • - Investigate and compile reports on incidents involving fire

 

Certification

Delegates will be required to sit a short exam at the end of the course. Those that successfully pass will be issued with an MCA approved STCW Updated Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting; Regulation VI/3, paragraph 1 and Section A-VI/3, paragraph 5 & 6 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978 as amended.

 

Assessments: Our assessments are now on an electronic format where you will need to scan a QR code. For this please bring with you an electronic device (example: mobile phone, iPad, tablet) that can scan the QR Code. Printed versions of the assessments are still available if required.  

Prerequisites

Hold an Advanced Fire Fighting certificate.

Please note that this does not replace the requirement to update your Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF) certificate.

Special Requirements

Please ensure that you have photo ID to hand as you will be asked to show this to the instructor prior to course starting.

Delegate protocols during training:

  • Webcams must be on at all times during the course. 
  • Delegates to mute their mikes and use the raised hand icon for questions.
  • During group discussion, mikes to be unmuted.
  • Pen & paper ready to make notes as questions will be asked throughout
  • All delegates to participate as the you will ask questions to all and look satisfactory level of contribution and response.
  • Final assessments will be accessed via QR Code or weblink.
  • Regular comfort breaks throughout the training course will be taken.
