Steve Morgan
Senior Maritime Safety Instructor
With 37 years of fire fighting experience behind him, Steve Morgan brings a wealth of knowledge and practical application to The Maritime Skills Academy.
An impressive skill-set that began in the Royal Navy and continued to evolve when he moved to the Kent Fire and Rescue Service where he remained for the next 30 years.
Steve’s involvement with Kent’s offshore team was particularly significant during this time as it included several large ship firefighting operations.
Since leaving the Kent Fire Brigade, he has worked with Smit International where his participation in the military range and aircrew training department further developed his interest in small and fast craft – and led to him obtaining the Yachtmaster offshore qualification.
A valuable combination of knowledge and practical know-how that was recently put to work training Nato Naval Forces involved in multi national exercises – operating a fast attack craft in what were often very trying conditions.
Steve is an integral part of the training team and assists with Fire Fighting, Life Boat and Survival courses at The Maritime Skills Academy, as well as maintaining operational and safety equipment.
