Description

The aim of this module is to encourage positive manual handling behaviour and train delegates to perform manual handling tasks safely within the wind turbine industry. 

Course Objectives:

• Demonstrate positive manual handling behaviour and a proactive approach to personal safety.

• Identify and successfully assess risks and hazards associated with manual handling tasks within a wind turbine generator.

• Apply correct kinetic lifting and moving techniques to minimise the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.

• Execute manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in accordance with standard industry guidelines.

After having successfully completed Manual Handling Initial Training, the participants will have the ability to take responsibility for the use of essential manual handling principles to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injury when performing physical tasks and activities in the wind industry (Ability, intermediate level)

 

Note
Definition of manual handling: The transporting or supporting of a load (including lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying, or moving by hand or by bodily force)

Certification

Valid for 2 years.

If your current GWO Manual Handling certificate is still valid, you can attend the refresher course instead
